Job Title: Senior Commercial and Contracts Officer

Tekever is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Commercial and Contracts Officer to join our team at Tekever Defence.

Job Summary:

The Senior Commercial and Contracts Officer will be responsible for managing commercial agreements, contracts, and negotiations to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts, ensuring they align with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contract database and ensure timely renewals and modifications of contracts necessary.
  • Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for commercial requirements to deliver best value for money.
  • Lead negotiations for complex contracts and commercial agreements, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Develop negotiation strategies based on market analysis and company objectives.
  • Identify potential risks associated with contracts and commercial agreements, recommending mitigation strategies to management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Monitor and evaluate contract performance, ensuring compliance with deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise during the contract lifecycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide guidance on contract-related matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding specialist commercial advice and contract inquiries and negotiations.
  • Prepare and present reports on contract performance, compliance, and financial implications to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and organised documentation related to all contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for improving contract management processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject.
  • Professional Commercial Qualification (e.g. CIPS, MCIPS).
  • A strong, proven commercial background with significant experience in the defence market.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial contract law and regulations.
  • Technical knowledge of standard MOD commercial terms and conditions (Defcons).
  • UAS and Airspace Industry Knowledge (Aircraft/Sensors/Systems).
