We are seeking a Test Manager who will lead the development and implementation of best-in-class testing practices, while driving the establishment of a testing center of excellence. The Test Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating testing activities across various projects and delivery methods, managing a team of QA testers, and setting the test strategy. The Test Manager will plan and execute test phases, report on test outcomes, and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.1

Key Responsibilities

  • Set-up a testing maturity framework and continuous improvement plan to ensure Williams Lea delivers faultless service to it’s clients and takes advantage of the latest tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure that the test strategy and approach for each project are defined and implemented in accordance with the best practice framework, aligning with business requirements, project scope, and delivery methodology.
  • Plan and coordinate the test activities, including test design, test execution, defect management, and test closure.
  • Manage the test resources, budget, schedule, and deliverables, ensuring timely and effective communication with the project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report the test progress, status, risks, and issues, and provide recommendations for improvement and mitigation.
  • Ensure the test deliverables are of high quality and comply with the organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor the test team, providing guidance, feedback, and training as needed.
  • Collaborate with the project managers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the testing activities are aligned and integrated with the project objectives and expectations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Mentor the test analyst by establishing clear objectives and providing guidance on testing methodologies, techniques, tools, and best practices. Additionally, assist in identifying career aspirations and pathways while offering opportunities for skill development and advancement.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficient experience and comprehensive understanding of various test strategies including Unit, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Integration, Load, Soak, and Volume testing. Demonstrated capability to implement and execute these testing methodologies effectively to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.
  • Ability to adapt testing strategies to project requirements and optimize testing processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proficient in utilizing industry-leading test tools such as Selenium, Appium, JMeter and JUnit, with a proven track record of implementing effective test automation strategies. Demonstrated expertise in streamlining testing processes, enhancing efficiency, and delivering high-quality software products.
  • Experienced in CI/CD pipelines and behavior-driven development (BDD), adept at optimizing resource utilization and minimizing time-to-market. Adaptable to evolving industry trends and adept at addressing dynamic challenges in software testing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Certification in software testing, such as ISTQB Advanced Level, CSTE, or CTFL V3.1 or above, is a plus.

Experience

  • At least 15 years of experience in software testing, including test management, test planning, test execution, and test reporting.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience in working with different delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
  • Experience in testing several types of software applications, such as web, mobile, desktop, and cloud.
  • Experience in using various testing tools and techniques, such as test automation, test management, defect tracking, and performance testing.
