Band 8a Locum Pharmacist Location: Aintree, Liverpool Contract: Full-time Locum role Start: ASAP Experience Required: Hospital pharmacy experience essential We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Band 8a Pharmacist to lead and develop the pharmacy service within a busy clinical directorate at Aintree. This is a key senior role, ideal for a confident and forward-thinking pharmacist with proven hospital experience and a passion for service improvement. About the Role As the Band 8a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for: Leading, managing, and developing the directorate’s pharmacy service Ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines Providing highly specialist pharmaceutical advice to clinical teams Supporting multidisciplinary working across the directorate Developing and implementing evidence-based protocols, guidelines, policies, and pathways Contributing to governance, risk management, and audit activity Supporting junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through training and mentorship Working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to drive high standards of patient care Requirements GPhC-registered Pharmacist Significant hospital pharmacy experience (essential) Strong clinical knowledge within a specialist area Experience contributing to or leading service development Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team Understanding of medicines governance, optimisation, and formulary processes
