Job Description:

  • Review and Selection: Analyze work pack drawings to determine and select the appropriate Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) for each project.
  • Welder Qualification: Verify that welder qualifications are up-to-date and suitable for the welding tasks being performed.
  • Instruction and Guidance: Provide clear welding instructions to operators to ensure adherence to WPS and project specifications.
  • Process Monitoring: Supervise the tacking and welding processes to ensure strict compliance with WPS.
  • Pre-Weld Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of materials, dimensions, and fit-ups before welding to confirm compliance with specified requirements.
  • Weld Audits: Perform and document weld audits, checking weld parameters, consumables, and adherence to WPS.
  • Inspection Management: Carry out visual and NDT inspections according to in-house procedures or coordinate third-party inspections to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Documentation: Complete fabrication checklists and commissioning forms prior to pressure testing, ensuring all quality and procedural requirements are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct QC dimensional and material checks as needed, ensuring all manufacturing quality requirements are documented and adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in welding quality assurance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of welding procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Experience with visual and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
