We are seeking a passionate individual to join us for 6 months within our lab at Refresco, Bridgwater. Laboratory Admin – 6-month FTC Day shift – 39 hours Purpose of the role: To provide full administration support for the Laboratory Team and Laboratory Manager. Provide additional administrative support to other Technical Management members and the Factory Quality Managers. Duties of a Laboratory Admin:
- Ensure that laboratory files are kept up to date and accurate so that they are accessible to all laboratory staff.
- All samples collected and sent according to schedule and customers' requests
- Minimise the number of lost or damaged parcels (circa 10 parcels sent per week)
- Lab consumables stock maintained efficiently every week: circa 20 different items, approximately £1,000 per week stock purchase, orders placed in time for punctual delivery
- Ensuring consumable supply and demand is well balanced with no downtime in internal storages/ offices/ other premises. Ensuring stock is kept at optimal levels to prevent negativity impacting laboratory practices or expenditure
- Reduced costs for sent parcels in comparison to last month/ quarter/year
- Reduced costs for lab consumables purchased in comparison to last month/quarter/year
- Accurate and timely report preparation (utilising 7 spreadsheets of data)
- Accurate records keeping
- Completed training and tests
- Keeping working environment compliant with health and safety requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative role
- Used to dealing with suppliers and customers
- Experience of laboratory environment
- Strong IT Skills; Microsoft office packages
- Knowledge of stock control and purchasing
