Here at Leonardo Hotels we have an absolutely wonderful opportunity for a Deputy Director of Meetings & Events.

You will have overall responsibility for the meetings and event function in the UK and Ireland. Through effective management of the M&E team you will be able to demonstrate first class customer service skills, have the ability to adapt and multi task whilst having that keen eye for detail.

There will be 2 key elements to your role, office management and functional reporting.
The role will report to the Group – Director of Meetings & Events and involves working closely with all functional heads.

  • Be standards driven and detail-orientated with the ability to organise and plan ahead.
  • Ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environmen
  • Must have previous experience in a similar role and demonstrated business /industry awareness

The job –

  • Over-arching responsibility for office management including service delivery (BDRC), conversion and processes
  • Deputise for the Group Director of Meetings and Events when required
  • Improve employee engagement and retention via function training, coaching reward & recognition
  • Drive a pro-active sales culture within M&E function
  • Create and share functional reporting as required.
  • Christmas – provide the business with performance, drive key actions to drive demand & conversion
  • Work along side 3rd parties like Venue Directory and meetingspackage to drive performance
  • Present functional revenue, people and service performance to all levels of the business
  • Create functional forecasts and budgets/presentations
  • Work with the hotels to create/guide M&E strategies including pricing
  • Key contact for supplies and clients
  • Work with property teams, M&E Revenue Manager and Proactive Sales to ensure both short- and long-term targets are achieved.
  • Coach the managers and wider team to improve levels of conversion from initial enquiry.
  • Coach the managers and wider team on test call criteria ensuring a minimum score of 85% is achieved each month (M&E)
  • Work with the M&E Revenue Manager to ensure that pricing framework is implemented and adhered to across the standalone offices.
  • Ensure effective cross selling between all properties and ensure the right business is selected for the right hotel depending on need/availability
  • Through effective management of the team ensure, Opera S&C, Opera PMS and Smartspace are updated with accurate and relevant information as well as produce any reports that are required in order to measure progress and opportunity.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the National Account M&E Sales Team to drive enquiries into the properties
  • Ensure competitor SWOT analysis calls and site visits take place on a regular basis.
  • Ensure rounded knowledge of competitor set facilities and offering.
  • Maintain high standards of self-presentation at all times
  • Work in accordance with Standard operating procedures for the department.
