Podiatrist Apprentice

Working across the borough of Solihull, Community Podiatry are a small but dynamic team serving the population to help reduce the risk of complications that contribute to major limb amputation. This post is full time (37.5 hours) across 5 days in various locations such as Community Clinics, Patient's Home's as well as other UHB sites. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who are deemed at risk.
This post is suitable for new graduates, however, will commence at a band 5 level until band 6 competencies are completed.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for new referrals and ongoing patients, ensuring that patient care pathways are followed, and episodes of care are implemented, to incorporate promoting the benefits of foot health, foot care advice and self- care. This involves providing education to (but not limited to) apprentices, students, nurses, GP practices.

BSc(Hons) Podiatry
*POM-A & POM-S annotations including administration of Local Anaesthesia

Registration with College of Podiatry or IoCP
*Experience of high risk patient groups
*Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the importance of patient assessment and management, including care of high risk patients

Knowledge of current issues pertinent to podiatry
*Ability to advise patients, relatives, carers on self-care and health promotion
*Ability to demonstrate individual responsibility to health and safety
*Team working within podiatry and the wider community MDT
*Demonstrate an adaptable and flexible approach
*To Travel around the Solihull Borough and across UHB sites including carrying equipment
