Title: Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our client's team. You will work as part of a small finance team, providing payroll services to a diverse range of clients in the hospitality sector. This hybrid role combines home based work with attendance at client locations and team meetings, predominantly in and around London. The standard work hours align with office hours, but a degree of flexibility is required to ensure that all payroll deadlines are met.
Processing payroll according to client specifications, including managing new starters, leavers, and yearend processes.
Calculating accurate employee pay by accounting for hours worked, overtime rates, taxes, national insurance payments, and other factors.
Managing holiday, sick, maternity, and paternity leave payments.
Handling TRONC and service charge payments.
Addressing and resolving payroll queries from clients and employees, including investigating and reconciling discrepancies.
Distributing essential payroll forms such as P45, P60, and P11D.
Processing PAYE and NI deductions and submitting payroll information to HM Revenue and Customs.
Verifying and obtaining direct debit banking information from employees.
Collaborating with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate pension payments, PAYE/NI reconciliations, and updates to client accounts.
Managing multiple pension providers and uploading deduction schedules.
Carrying out other ad hoc payroll related duties as required.
GCSE in Maths and English.
Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and PAYE procedures.
Proficient mathematical skills for calculating and validating software generated tax and wage calculations.
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with office and payroll software such as Excel.
Initiative and ambition for professional growth.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with clients to deliver payroll services.
Experience with Fourth and SAGE Payroll software.
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals qualification or working towards.
