Head of Clearing Operations - Central London

Newly created role/function

A globally audited and regulated digital assets exchange is building out a new team and function in London and are looking to bring on a Head of Clearing Operations to lead this expansion. (No previous experience in digital assets is required)

The role:

Reshaping the financial exchange landscape, transforming how individuals earn, invest, and transact, empowering all to a brighter financial future. Supported by a fully regulated and robust treasury, Their exchange offers a distinctive blend of deep liquidity, automated market making, and state-of-the-art security and compliance measures.

As the Head of Clearing Operations, you will drive the management of their clearing operations, fostering innovation and efficiency within the Exchange. This role requires hands-on leadership and attention to detail as you oversee day-to-day operations and chart the strategic course for their clearing function.

You will be assisting building out their clearing function, as well as establishing and hiring a new team for their London base.

Ideally looking for an individual with a grasp of clearing processes, encompassing custody, settlement, with a strong operational background. Proficiency in derivatives, futures, CFDs, and analogous financial instruments will be ideal to navigate intricate regulatory frameworks and mitigate risk.

You will collaborate closely with their management and product teams, alongside second-line control functions, to refine their clearing processes and propel continuous product enhancements.

Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, robust leadership capabilities, and a global perspective.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

  • Background in derivatives, futures, and CFDs, coupled with a deep understanding of fiat and crypto custody, settlement, and transfer processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory and risk management requirements pertinent to the clearing business
  • Proven leadership experience within operating teams of regulated clearing businesses
  • Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding products and services
  • Track record of effectively managing critical business relationships, both internal and external
  • Experience in futures and derivatives clearing, collateral management, and default management
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing processes and tools, with a focus on ongoing maintenance and auditing
  • Strong emphasis on risk management and internal controls
  • Team-oriented mindset with a fervent drive for innovation and excellence.
