Wills & Probate Partner – Rare Opportunity to join leading Oxfordshire Law Firm

This is a rare opportunity to join Lightfoots Solicitors as a Partner and lead our Wills & Probate department in their continued success. The department has an extensive client base and excellent reputation. As a Wills & Probate Partner you will play a crucial role in guiding clients through the complexities of estate planning, probate administration, and related legal matters. The ideal candidate will be STEP qualified, an excellent business leader, and passionate about this area of law.

Lightfoots Solicitors is Thame’s foremost law firm. Established over 170 years ago, today we have four offices in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and work for clients across the UK. You will join a dynamic group of Partners and have the opportunity to drive real change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Wills & Probate department, providing strategic direction and oversight
  • Be an active member of the Lightfoots Solicitors Partnership, helping to shape the future of the firm
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction
  • Actively contribute to marketing and business development, identifying growth opportunities for the department
  • Advise clients on estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, andPowersof Attorney
  • Manage probate and estate administration processes from start to finish
  • Represent clients in probate court proceedings and disputes

The Ideal Candidate:

You will have demonstrable experience in managing a team of legal professionals, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Additionally, you will have a strong business development background, with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.

The successful candidate will ideally be STEP qualified.

We welcome applications both from candidates already at Partner level, and those at Senior Associate level with suitable leadership experience who are looking to take their next step up.
