For the past decade, the SPS team has played a crucial role in positively impacting healthcare in Somerset. We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a Band 4 Associate Practitioner to join our Histology team. You would be providing support to the leadership of Southwest Pathology Services at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. Our laboratory is accredited with ISO15189 UKAS and is recognised as a HCPC approved training facility.

5hr shifts between 7am-8pm / Mon-Fri

Support the laboratories in the Send Away process for genetic testing referral.

* Utilise the laboratory LIMS, Q-Pulse quality monitoring system and other application software according to authorised protocols.

* Provide supervision, training and professional leadership to junior staff which includes monitoring their performance against laboratory standards and their training plans.

Relevant NVQ Level 3 with applied theoretical knowledge, training to Level 4 diploma or equivalent desirable.

* Working knowledge of Biomedical techniques and practices.

* Knowledge of computer applications and LIMS including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Statistical Packages.

For Band 7 - 8c roles, a discretionary team performance bonus payment worth up to 5% of salary per annum.
