With campaigns across Kenya, Nigeria, India, South Africa, and Cote d’Ivoire, the content has been broadcast on over 180 channels in 70 countries and has reached over 720 million households. Aired on Paramount international channels worldwide, the content is also offered rights-free to 3rd party broadcasters and content platforms and used as a teaching aid by educators, healthcare workers, and grassroots organizations worldwide. Job Description

We are recruiting a MEL Manager to support our campaigns across different countries. The postholder will work closely with country teams and external research organisations to develop, monitor and evaluate plans and activities to assess campaign impacts.

You should have a strong background on research methodology, ideally across a range of different data (quantitative, qualitative, digital). You should also have experience conducting and synthesising findings in published literature.

Key Responsibilities

Commission or conduct MEL activities.

Critically review research proposals and MEL mechanisms/processes.

Develop activities to promote and embed good practice in MEL across all campaigns.

Strong understand and experience throughout the research cycle with a wide range of data (quantitative, qualitative, digital) for MEL, including data collection, analysis and interpretation.

Draw conclusions from evaluations and analyses and ensure they are communicated clearly to different audiences.

Support the identification of key evaluation questions and development of theory of change.

Communicate and share timely evidence, insights and lessons learned.

Work across different country teams to collect and analyse internal routine data.

Support the development and use of an internal dashboard.

Support capacity strengthening of MEL capacities internally.

Lead the drafting of knowledge products, including blogs and reports.

Manage external research organisations, including planning of deliverables, regular check-ins and quality assurance of deliverables.

Demonstrate knowledge and experience of how to apply MEL approaches to generate insight that can evidence research impact.

Develop M&E components on funding applications.

 

Essential Criteria

Post-graduate degree in social sciences, research, SRH or relevant area, or equivalent experience.

Experience in designing, conducting, commissioning and managing research evaluations.

Knowledge of evaluation approaches, including ability to design practical, fit-for-purpose studies.

Experience working with and reporting to a range of donors.

Ability to articulate, synthesise and distil complex information and concepts into accessible formats.

Understanding and awareness of MEL approaches and tools and impact measurement in our key areas of work (i.e., SRH, adolescents, gender, norms, media, etc).

 

Other skills

Experience of SBCC and media sectors.

Experience of MTV SAF priority countries, including Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and India.

 

Contract: 12 months

Location: hybrid or remote depending on candidate’s location.
