The School is an independent specialist provision serving children and young people in the East Midlands with a variety of SEND needs. Class sizes are small and you will have support from dedicated TA's The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and a range of diagnosis which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attachment needs and mild/moderate learning needs. Role responsibilities Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils. Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning. Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy Safeguarding vulnerable pupils Possible supervising on lunch and break times Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom Building relationships with staff and pupils Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils Potentially lead in a subject area Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carersRequirements Relevent Teacher Qualification Be highly organised with excellent communication skills Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds Have excellent behaviour management skillsUnderstand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.
