Sustainability Analyst

A global Japanese Logistics company is currently recruiting a Sustainability Analyst to work in their office in London.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting their Sustainability Team to execute and deliver the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) project. You would be working closely with other offices and subsidiaries across EMEA region.

The ideal candidate should have in depth knowledge and sufficient experience of sustainability and ESG management.

Sustainability Analyst Main Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Sustainability team to manage and successfully deliver the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) project, by supporting the PM in ensuring timely execution and delivery of the overall project
  • To assist the Sustainability Team to prepare, plan, execute, and deliver activities to ensure the group companies in the region can fulfill requirements other sustainability / ESG related legislation in the EU and the UK, in close collaboration with relevant parties including their Tokyo and external consultants
  • To support the Sustainability Team in developing and implementing sustainability / ESG related initiatives in line with the story and the Medium-Term Management Plan issued by the HQ in Tokyo, based on Tokyo’s direction and Sustainability Team’s action plan
  • Interpret data and making recommendations for improvement where necessary whilst examining existing polies and best practice, reviewing industry trends

Sustainability Analyst Ideal Candidate:

  • In depth knowledge and sufficient experience of sustainability and ESG management
  • Experience of working in a similar data analysis or project management role
  • Basic industry knowledge of international shipping/logistic business
  • Ability to plan, launch, and manage a new project (including organisational structure and communication set up from the outset), whilst keeping close communications among stakeholders and gaining proper consensus from participants to move the project ahead
  • Ability to take a leading role in mapping out a general strategy and creating concrete action plans for the company
  • Ability to draft, develop, and facilitate implementation of a plan for the Group’s sustainability activities and initiatives in the Europe region
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, Team-work mind-set
  • Business level in English
  • Data analysis, research, report writing skills
  • Good project management and presentations skills
  • Problem solving, innovation and improvement
  • IT Skills (Office 365, Teams, and Data Analytics)
  • Business travel is expected from time to time, to group companies in the region and Tokyo
