SENIOR ESTIMATOR
Based in Hingham, A C Bacon Engineering Ltd is a leading Norfolk-based manufacturer specializing in steel structures and steel frames for agricultural, commercial, and industrial buildings. We handle everything from design through to manufacture, delivery, and installation. In addition, we can supply and install wall and roof cladding, roller shutter doors, personnel doors, metal decking, PCC planks and stairs, PCC grain walling, and concrete pad foundations. Our headquarters in Hingham boasts extensive in-house production facilities to ensure the highest quality product and experience for our customers. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our commercial team. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the estimating department, ensuring smooth operations with deadlines met in line with our clients' expectations and company objectives. Your industry experience and knowledge will be crucial in providing detailed cost estimates, including budget cost estimates, and exploring all commercial opportunities to their fullest potential.
Provide and maintain clear and accurate sales data for weekly review with senior management, including quotation/sales/client information, top opportunities, and ongoing sales leads.
# Undertake detailed and accurate 'take-offs' from client ITT information and drawings using the Company's bespoke software.
# Acquire quotations for all specialist 'buy-out' items, obtaining competitive bids and reviewing all data with appropriate clarification.
# Provide effective follow-up service to submitted quotations to maximize commercial opportunity.
# Offer Value Engineering options to clients to further the Company's commercial opportunity.
# Provide a detailed and effective internal 'project launch' at the point of contract award.
# Mentor, support, and develop Trainee Estimators and other staff members.
# Provide all financial reporting to senior management as requested.

The successful candidate will have previous experience and a proven track record within the structural steelwork industry, excellent communication, analytical, oral, and report writing skills. The ability to work accurately, collaboratively, under pressure, and to strict deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously will be essential.
This full-time position offers a competitive remuneration package, dependent on experience, including 29.5 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), a company pension scheme, and free onsite parking.
