As we continue to grow, we are seeking to expand our leadership team by bringing on an R&D Project Manager with the potential to advance into the COO role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage R&D projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet project objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Lead cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts and resolving conflicts to ensure project success
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clients, researchers, board members, and computational physicists
- Identify new opportunities within the organisation’s scope, pursue and develop opportunities into projects; allocate resources, budget, and define success and timelines.
Required skills and qualifications:
- PhD degree in engineering, science, or a related field
- Proven experience in R&D project management, preferably in physical simulation software development
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with the majority of communication via teleconference
Desired skills and experience:
- Knowledge of plasma physics, especially low-temperature plasma physics
- Familiarity with HPC (High-Performance Computing) environments and parallel programming techniques
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git, bitbucket)
- Understanding of code validation techniques
