Our global end user client is looking for an experienced Power BI Analyst to work on documentation, continual development and creation of Power BI Financial Reports to enhance decision making across the organisation through enhanced insight and reporting.

The role will initially involve 2 days per week on-site near Stoke-on-Trent but will become more remote based over time.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field. MBA or ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification highly preferred. Experience : At least 5 years of progressive work experience in Financial Planning & Analysis Management: Experience managing and/or mentoring teams, or aspiration to do so is preferred.Previous experience working for large global multi-currency, matrix organisations is highly beneficial.
  • Extensive and demonstratable experience creating Power BI reports and dashboards with a solid understanding of data flow, relationships and structures.
  • Experience in financial reporting of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements with ability to identify trends, drivers and provide insightful narrative.
  • Continual Improvement: Proven experiences in system and process development, implementation or improvement.
  • A solid understanding of modern cloud-based ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics F&O or Microsoft Business Central preferred, ideally with exposure to analytics and forecasting tools such as IBM Planning Analytics / TM1.
  • Project Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, self-managing your own time, reliant resources and stakeholder expectations.Communication Skills: Solid written and verbal communicator with strong presentational skills.
  • Attributes: Methodical and highly analytical, innovative problem solver with a focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to work autonomously with exceptional presentational and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting: Drive business value through insight by developing best in class financial reporting in Power BI, utilising data from our BI managed Data Warehouse and Finance/Business Systems.
  • Training and Documentation: Support with documentation of current and new reports, including technical model reviews, training videos and associated material, plus the identification of future improvements and requirements
  • Data & Process Improvement: Drive simplification and standardization in data management, governance, reporting tools, and forecasting processes
  • Systems Maintenance: Support in the maintenance and upkeep of our reporting structures and hierarchies
  • Problem Solving: Solve complex problems with innovative solutions by gearing against available evolving technologies
  • Project Management: Work independently with minimal guidance and act as a resource for colleagues and lead projects within manageable risks and resource requirements.
