Special Educational Needs (SEN) Behaviour Teaching Assistant Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school in Accrington. Our dedicated team is committed to supporting children with special educational needs, and we need your expertise to help us achieve our mission. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with various behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom (SEMH – social, emotional and mental health)
  • Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to encourage positive behaviour and learning.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to create a holistic approach to each child’s education.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in behaviour support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
  • A minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or be able to complete our online Level 2 Teaching Assistant Diploma).
