Organization: Mercor Position: Senior Open Source Engineer Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles Type: Hourly contract Compensation: $150/hr (flexible, starting rate) Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided) Contribute to well-known open-source repositories with production-quality code. Author, review, and manage Pull Requests (PRs) in large and complex codebases. Merge new features and fixes while maintaining code quality and project standards. Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on open-source development workflows. Ensure robustness, scalability, and maintainability of contributed code. Requirements Strong, demonstrated experience contributing to major open-source projects (e.g., GitHub). Proven ability to author, review, and merge Pull Requests in large codebases. Strong software engineering background with professional industry experience. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
