Role Overview:
As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be pivotal in constructing and managing our client's extensive data centres and co-location facilities. These infrastructures are fundamental to their high-performance computing and data platforms, supporting global research and trading operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the physical and logistical aspects of data centre expansions and maintenance.
- Ensure the highest operational and security standards are met in all implementations.
- Engage in both routine maintenance and new project initiatives.
- Travel domestically and internationally to manage the global data centre network.
- Oversee large-scale data centre architectures, including telemetry, capacity management, maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for data centre builds and designs.
- Implement high-performance data centres and supporting infrastructures for compute, network, and storage at hyper-scale levels.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to manage changes within the data centre and financial market exchange co-location environments.
- Thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of large-scale data centre operations and architectures.
- Expertise in operational telemetry, capacity management, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in executing maintenance and system upgrades.
- Exceptional documentation skills to ensure clarity and maintainable standards.
- Strong background in high-performance data centre and infrastructure implementation.
- Familiarity with the ecosystem of data centre and financial market exchange co-location vendors.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with third-party providers.
- Background in financial services or trading environments.
