The purpose of the Primary Schools Officer role is to co-ordinate the delivery aspects of the Primary Schools programme. The aim of the role is to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality provision for Primary Schools across Greater Manchester. A focus will be placed on the recruitment, management, development and ongoing support of staff to ensure high quality of delivery, increased experiences and opportunities, and professional development for staff and participants. The role will also contribute towards the recruitment of schools for the programme. Accountabilities Co-ordinate a team of coaches to deliver the Primary Schools programme, via the Premier League Primary Stars programme and CITC’s primary schools’ provision. Ensuring consistent engagement of participants from diverse backgrounds and abilities. This includes all aspects of practical delivery, monitoring and evaluation and relationship building in the settings, to offer a variety of educational experiences to primary school participants. Responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with key school staff, including the re-signing of school contracts and the signing up of new schools to the Primary Schools programme in-line with programme delivery targets. Responsible for the planning and delivery of programme curricula and events linked to the Primary Schools Programme, ensuring curriculum and events are inclusive, educational and accessible to schools and participants. Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding are embedded across the team, maintaining full compliance with CITC’s safeguarding policies and practices in line with legal and ethical responsibilities. Responsible for progressing and reporting on set KPIs and outcomes associated with the programme to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with the programme funders and partner schools. Uphold and ensure compliance with all CITC and CFG policies and procedures across the team, acting as the first point of escalation for breaches and conducting investigations where necessary. Build and maintain strong relationships with Internal CITC and CFG departments, as well as external funders, local authorities, and education bodies, to ehance CITC's visibility, impact, and reach across Greater Manchester. Regularly reviewing individual performances within the team, providing high quality session observations and structured feedback to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery on the programmes. Contribute to management of budget spend to ensure programmes are delivered within the projected budget, escalating observations or any concerns where necessary. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience In-depth understanding of community-based education programmes, specifically within primary and disability school settings Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how physical education and school sports contributes to this Solid experience of working in and liaising with schools, community organisations, and external funding partners Knowledge of CITC’s education programmes and their role within the wider education and employability landscape GCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths and Science Minimum NGB L2 coaching qualification (ideally football/UEFA C) Experience of managing a team Competent across Microsoft office Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Creative and passionate about continuous improvement Resilient and adaptable to change Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities Desirable Degree level education Coaching qualification in one other relevant sport Qualified teacher status, teaching assistant qualification L3 PESS or L3/L4 teaching assistant/higher level teaching assistant qualification Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club Experience of coordinating community programmes and achieving associated KPI’s and outcomes Remote line management Presentation skills Experience of delivering technical training for team members and other professionals Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects Knowledge of competitive sport development pathways Budget management and reporting City Football Group promotes equal opportunities in employment, and we positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
