Department Description
This role sits within the Controls function, reporting to Business Risk & Control Manager. You will be an integral part of an action orientated, fast moving team, responsible for successfully delivering First Line of Defence capability within the bank.
Role Description
Supports the risk manager regarding all aspects of Operation risk & control management program, including conduct and non-conduct related risk. Responsibilities include facilitating the identification of risks throughout the Bank, developing, reporting and monitoring formats on risk management issues and developing methodologies for the assessment of risks throughout the business.
- Perform analyses, identify trends, and create reporting for internal and external use, including for the Banks’ Risk Management Committee
- Support risk & control projects and initiatives to drive improvements to key processes and controls
- Partner with risk and control owners to identify, assess, monitor, measure, and report on various key risk indicators
- In conjunction with other risk management areas in the lines of businesses, helps develop, implement, monitor, and manage market, credit, liquidity, regulatory/compliance, and operational risk mitigation activities
- Conduct risk evaluations of third-party service providers (vendors, outside service providers) and ensure appropriate due diligence is performed to identify, mitigate, and maintain ongoing awareness of risks to the Bank resulting from third party relationships
- Support business areas with day-to-day risk/compliance questions regarding business processes
- Identify parts of the business that require or would benefit from improved business processes/controls, and assist with development and implementation of such process/control enhancements
- Partner with business areas to evaluate process or control breakdowns (including root cause analysis)
- Support the coordination and facilitation of the bank’s Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and administration of the bank’s annual RCSA refresh.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide hands-on Risk support across the bank from a First Line Controls perspective.
- Support with ongoing active management of risk and embedding of the Risk Management Framework.
- Supporting Business Risk & Control Manager(s)
- Support the ongoing monitoring and reporting of risk through relevant governance.
- Delivery of accurate risk and control performance analysis, through use of the Bank strategic risk management solutions
- Risk performance data collation for Bank Governance committees
- Help promote a risk-focused culture across the bank, embodying Allica’s values
Personal Attributes & Experience
- A good Risk knowledge and experience including RCSAs, Controls and Risk Libraries, risk event reporting,
- Knowledge of relevant non-financial risk regulatory requirements, e.g. on Operational Resilience, Outsourcing is desirable.
- Hands on experience of assurance/monitoring of risks and controls across non-financial risk disciplines
- Willing to be very hands-on and ability to adapt quickly to the workflow in support of the Controls team, with focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
- Strong written and presentation skills, supported by experience of communication across different levels of seniority.
- Ability to provide necessary challenge in a constructive manner.
- Strong team player, with focus on ongoing development to support meeting objective of the team.
- Provide hands-on Risk support across the bank from a First Line Controls perspective.
- Support with ongoing active management of risk and embedding of the Risk Management Framework.
