Alumni are looking to hire an experienced UK based Telco Programme Director in a Permanent or Associate role to support our UK Business, and to work on external client engagements.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for running a senior programme assurance layer for our external Systems Integrator (SI) clients with their Telco clients.

You will sit as part of the SI programme/account teams and the programme teams within their telco clients. The objective will be to work with both the Telco and SI to ensure that the combined Telco and SI programme delivers the value defined within the Telco business case.

This will involve working across teams in SI and Telco teams mainly within the UK and India, as part of a small Alumni Services UK Team. This Alumni team will be working on behalf of the SI clients across a number of programmes within the Telco.

Duties will include:

  • Strategic advice and support across telco technologies and programme delivery
  • Senior stakeholder management across the telco and SI organisations
  • To focus delivery programmes around realisation of value (e.g. EOSL for IT Transformation, ROI)
  • Identify additional value streams (e.g. further cost reduction opportunities enabled by the business process transformation)
  • To ensure that the principles of customer success management are embedded into the programme across both the telco and SI
  • OKR & KPI definition and management
  • Benefits tracking and management
  • Programme reporting
  • Business Adoption
  • Programme controls and standards are implemented within the telco and SI e.g. security by design, commercial and technical compliance, operational buy-in, adoption/migration approaches.
  • Programme delivery interventions are identified and put in place where corrective action is required to realise value.
  • Implementation of a standard approach to comms, change management, budget management, planning and forecasting, resource management.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, coaching, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Effective internal consulting skills along with the ability to positively influence others in a desired direction to achieve identified outcomes without direct lines of authority
  • Attention to detail and passion for delivering outstanding service
  • Ability to make complex things simple to execute.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team; self - starter

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master's degree

Experience / Background:

  • 10+ years’ experience in PMO, Project Management or Programme Management
  • Must have experience within the telecommunications sector
  • Experience with Voice and/or Broadband telco products and technologies
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing and managing PMO functions
  • Clear understanding of quality management systems
  • Project or programme management accreditation
  • Consultancy experience preferred but not essential
