The Abbott Nutrition International Business HR Director is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that serve the needs of the business while supporting broad-based and long-range corporate HR initiatives. This role primarily supports the Commercial functions of Abbott Nutrition (ANI) in the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region. The role acts as the face of the business to HR and the face of HR to the business. A key aspect of the role requires the HR Director to act as a liaison between the business and corporate HR (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic HR direction and initiate/integrate/implement HR solutions, strategies and programs for assigned client areas in ANI EMEA inclusive of long-range planning. Anticipate the impact of internal and external business and HR trends and shifts. Demonstrate ability to adjust operations and efforts to accommodate these trends while still meeting the needs of the business. Proactively work with managers, directors and DVPs to evaluate and develop HR strategies for implementation of changes that have a broad impact on the business.

Work to develop, update, implement, and communicate all aspects of Performance Excellence to include performance assessments, growth planning, career development and succession/developmental moves.

  • Act as the primary strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions.
  • Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR services for the respective business including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness and associated financial results.
  • Establish, build and maintain strong relationships with key HR partners from all Practice Areas and Service Centres to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; includes relationship management, leadership, HR roles/responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
  • Be the ambassador of the HR organization to represent the services and resources available to the business and help manage the collective reputation of the HR organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies and practices
  • Identify and remedy talent retention issues
  • Promote employee understanding and contribute to positive morale through effective communications.

HR Strategy

  • In conjunction with Sr. Management of a Fully Integrated Business, develop & apply strategies to meet long-term business needs.
  • Lead the implementation of corporate and divisional HR goals and objectives to meet Business LRP.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain collaboration and teamwork across functional areas and other BHR colleagues. Instil confidence, earn trust, and credibility with business leaders by establishing a track record of success.
  • Responsible for the quality, responsiveness, and success of the overall global delivery of HR services.
  • Be a balanced and objective advocate for both the business and HR.

Know the Business

  • Significant breadth and depth of understanding of the respective critical business drivers and Long-Range Planning (LRP).
  • Understands the impact of global issues on the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure business leaders bring current and future HR trends and supporting data into their business planning process.

Services Management

  • Coordinate and project manage delivery of focused, timely, and effective solutions to the business unit.

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience. A thorough knowledge of Human Resources laws, practices, policies, as well as its role within the overall business is essential to the success and effectiveness of this individual.

Background : At least 7-10 years’ progressive experience in the Human Resources field with prior HR management experience. Demonstrated expertise as an HR generalist is required. Must have demonstrated skills in business, project management, leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, decision-making, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships and influence client area on HR related topics.

Demonstrated experience in strategy development, planning and implementation, and organizational development activity. Significant breadth of understanding of functional HR roles and responsibilities and their impact on the business is required. Experience at this level includes both domestic and international applications. Demonstrated knowledge of the business disciplines, sensitivity to the needs of the human organization, and a strategic approach to problem resolution.

Language:

Fluent English is required. A second language from the area is an asset.

Travel: The position-holder must be able to travel on a regular basis up to around 50% of the time.
