About the role As a Network Security Analyst with expertise in Telecommunication domain. To provide focused technical and operational support for firewall, VPN and DNS security management within the Security Technology Operations (STO) function. The contractor will primarily manage and execute network security change requests / incidents / improvements, ensuring timely, accurate, and secure implementation across client’s network infrastructure. This role will help reduce the workload on the permanent team, ensuring project timelines and service levels remain on track..
00pm Monday to Friday.
Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Own the intake, analysis, and execution of firewall / VPN / DNS security change requests via ServiceNow.
Validate rule requests against security policies, standards, and design principles.
Implement and document firewall rules across enterprise and data center environments.
Coordinate with requestors, network engineers, and project teams to ensure minimal disruption.
Conduct troubleshooting and validation testing post-change.
Identify misconfigurations and make changes to configure for best security and business enablement.
Identify and raise risks or vulnerabilities linked to network security configurations.
Propose and help implement automation or process efficiencies.
Support compliance with internal standards, audits, and operational procedures.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, NAT, subnets).
Familiarity with ServiceNow for change and request management.
Experience applying ITIL processes (Incident, Request, Change).
Previous exposure to security operations or network security roles.
Network certifications beneficial (e.g., NSE, PCNSE, CCNP Security, or CompTIA Security+).
Experience in managing network security technology and be able to manage risks, issues and change on those technologies to ensure they provide security for client and do not adversely impact users or operations.
Demonstrates a good understanding of the range of technical security control concepts, procedures and systems (i.e., This is a contract until Mar 2026
This role provides a hybrid working access in Cambridge (2-3 days in a week)
