Head of Fleet

GXO have engineered just the role for you We are currently seeking a forward thinking and driven individual for the role of Head of Fleet at our Currys site in Newark. In this role, you will provide strategic oversight of the contracts fleet programmes, including a comprehensive fleet replacement strategy for circa 50 tractor units and 250 trailers over the next 5-10 years. Working alongside Currys, GXO central fleet team and other stakeholders, ensuring the current and future needs of the business are met will be key in achieving success over the long term. The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll work on an any 5 from 7 contract between the core hours of 06:00 and 18:00. However, flexibility is essential - this is logistics after all Pay, benefits and more: You’ll be paid a salary of up to £65,000 - £70,000 per annum depending upon experience, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. There’s also our continued focus on internal promotions, over 55% last year What you’ll do on a typical day: Produce a full and detailed fleet replacement programme, including routes to market to finance the programme, whilst also considering the current and future needs of our customer Evaluating the policies and procedures of today, to ensure we receive value for money from our service agents and are striking the correct balance between cost and service Leading key fleet initiatives, including potential EV introduction and other alternative fuel options Be accountable for the performance of the vendors and address issues and complaints from customers or staff regarding repairer performance promptly and conclusively to the satisfaction of the company and our customers, updating all parties, as necessary What you need to succeed at GXO: Experience of working in, or alongside 3PL’s and HGV maintenance providers Both technical and managerial experience in HGV vehicle maintenance, compliance and legislation Strong commercial and financial acumen, ability to work on multiple gainshare projects Strong decision making and problem-solving skills with experience in management of fleet budgets and fleet replacement programmes Level 3 City and Guilds Mechanical qualification and CPC holder both desirable We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains. -LB2 GXO is a leading provider of cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the most successful companies in the world.
