Lead Java Engineer - Front Office Risk - Boutique Systematic Fund - London - Comp in Excess of £250,000

One of the most profitable funds per head in London with over £10bn in AUM is looking for a highly strategic and critical hire right now, specifically a Java Technical Lead to make an immediate impact on their front office intraday risk technology.

They're a well-established but small fund specialising in electronic FX and Equities trading, regarded as one of the key players in these markets. You’ll be reporting to the business working in a "strat" capacity, facing off directly with Quants and Traders, enabling them to analyse the risk of their trades in realtime and ultimately making fully informed trading systems. They have a very high-calibre group of senior technologists who specialise in building bleeding edge, low-latency, zero-GC e-trading platforms in Java.

Their growth from this point is going to be huge and you will be part of their strategic plans going forward. You will be at the forefront of innovation to improve their technology landscape.

Required skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years' commercial software engineering experience within financial markets.
  • Demonstrable experience having built realtime Front Office Risk systems.
  • High proficiency in core Java with an understanding of fundamentals including concurrency and garbage collection.

Desirable:

  • Experience coding in Python.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of risk calculation across FX, Equities, Fixed Income products (cash or derivatives.
