They are currently seeking a Senior Economic Risk Analyst to join their Global Risks and Resilience team. This will involve looking at the nexus between new and emerging threats - climate change, pandemic, economic and financial instability, transnational criminal networks and terrorism, cyber disruption and disinformation, geopolitical volatility and conflict - to build robust and resilient policy responses.
The post holder will contribute to the thought leadership, policy advice and research on understanding the economic impacts of various threat and shocks. This position would suit an individual who is used to working in a busy environment and able to produce analysis and research under tight time constraints.
Demonstrable knowledge of key issues in at least two of the following areas: modelling and assessing economic impacts of intersecting threats such as climate change, pandemics and conflict, geopolitical volatility; shock-resilient (global) value chains, Chinese outward trade and investment analysis
Extensive developing country experience (particularly in the Indo- pacific and Central Asia, Middle East), working with government actors and / or international institutions on key issues relating to socio-economic development and economic shock risk management
Proven ability to translate research ideas into fundable projects in the areas of risk management and / or economic planning
Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis, which may include overnight and weekends
