Autism Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Immediate or September 2024
Contract Type: Full Time or Part Time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant to join our team in Scarborough. This role, available either full-time or part-time, starts immediately or in September 2024 and involves supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The school caters to pupils aged 2 to 16 who experience moderate learning difficulties, autism, or similar communication difficulties. The school is an academy for children with a range of special needs and disabilities.

Provide tailored support to students with autism, helping them to access the curriculum and develop social skills.
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
Have experience working with children with autism in an educational setting.
Be committed to promoting the inclusion and well-being of all students.
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
