The Opportunity You are invited to join the fastest-growing nature restoration company in the UK as its leading COMMERCIAL & NATURAL CAPITAL DIRECTOR . Responsible for further scaling RESTORE alongside its founding director, you are highly experienced financial performer, with a proven track record of scaling a business commercially, increasing profitability and viability, and successful natural capital deal-making.

Entrepreneurial and driven, you will see and create new business opportunities across RESTORE’s large land-management portfolio, whilst retaining a CFO capability to ensure the day-to-day financials, targets and overall commercial strategies remain sound and effective. You will rapidly increase short and long-term nat cap revenue streams, delivering for our business and critically, for our landowning clients.

We specialise in long-term, trust-based management contracts with carefully-selected clients, who are passionate about nature recovery on their land. Operating a start-to-end nature restoration service, we deliver vision, blended finance and implementation - alongside publicity and media management - within a single organisation. Natural capital development, deals & sales. You will be able to help structure, from point of conception to delivery of credit sales, biodiversity net gain deals for landowners – working where needed with an array of third-party partners. You will also push, innovate and develop new natural capital frameworks where appropriate, bringing RESTORE projects to the market in order to expedite their financing. Commercial & financial management. In the capacity of a CFO, you will steer day to day commercial decision making at the business at a senior level, with a high degree of delegated responsibility, reporting only to the founding director and Board. You will create the efficient systems needed to make the company ever-more financially profitable and demonstrate a meticulous, detailed grasp of steering its commercial success, from forecasting & modelling to delivering on pipeline.

· Enhancing financial productivity. Analysing the company both through the numbers and in terms of workflow and cash-flow, you will adroitly identify and proactively help improve areas of commercial productivity across the board, including staffing and staff decision-making, use of company time, ensuring each project remains profitable and viable, and helping steer major company decisions regarding commercial productivity.

· Land-based commercial opportunity creation. Making full use of RESTORE’s portfolio of land, which is based upon long-term, trust-based relations with its clients, you will proactively seek to maximise further commercial opportunities such as ecotourism, commercial lets or corporate events, whilst serving client needs.

· You will explore pipelines and other means by which Restore can access government-sector funding, in order to scale its project delivery across farms and estates in the UK.

· As a part of this role, you would be an integral member of the senior management team, dovetailing your insights into other areas of RESTORE, such as its impact/vision, client needs, special projects and land management workflow. In time, you would be expected to manage a growing team on the commercial side, including a land finance agent and other natural capital specialists.

RESTORE is seeking a very senior, proactive and well-motivated partner, to help the company grow and scale over the next 10+ years. You will have excellent interpersonal and business skills, a proven track record of generating major financial growth of a land-based portfolio, and innovative expertise in natural capital that extends beyond knowledge of markets into practical implementation.

This is a senior-level director position and salaries will be competitive, however performance will be predominantly evaluated upon financial uplift and therefore a sliding scale bonus-scheme will operate for this role. If successful, you will be notified immediately.
