Core Highways are a leading provider of temporary traffic management, barrier solutions and events signage. We currently have a vacancy for a Bid Manager on a remote basis but with regular travel to meetings with the Bid Team, Clients sites, and depots around the country. Reporting into the Managing Director of our Major Projects & National Clients team this role will be responsible for managing opportunities from initial identification of a customer requirement through to contract renewal strategy. Working within Shipley processes, manage and implement all necessary bid procedures, governance, and processes including capture planning, go/no go, bid gateways etc. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It requires strong people management and commercial skills.

Lead and complete the written proposal to the highest standards - both in terms of content and presentation.
Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from key stakeholders, typically engaging with win work, finance, commercial, operations and support functions.
Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all products / services are included in the final price to the customer.
Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process.
Manage the bid budget and monitor and report on overall performance against KPIs.
Ideally has a background in solution selling and experience of bid management from opportunity identification through to project delivery, and will provide valuable input into value proposition development, opportunity qualification, win strategy, commercial discussions, and solution delivery.
Proven team leadership skills in office-based and virtual work environments. Sound commercial understanding and profit and loss experience coupled with risk management skills.
Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures.
Commercial contract knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 is desirable but not essential.
Experience leading process improvement, automation, or system implementation projects would be an advantage.
