Bid Manager

Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a Bid Manager with a background in Construction or Civil Engineering to lead bid management efforts. The Bid Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire bid process, from opportunity identification and qualification to proposal development and submission. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Civil Engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of successfully securing and delivering Civil Engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the bid management process, including identifying and evaluating bid opportunities, assessing client requirements, and determining bid/no-bid decisions.
- Coordinate with business development, project management, and technical teams to develop bid strategies, win themes, and value propositions that differentiate our bids in the marketplace.
- Manage the preparation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Oversee the development of proposal content, including technical narratives, project descriptions, resumes, and other supporting documentation, coordinating contributions from subject matter experts.
- Work closely with the estimating team to develop accurate cost estimates, pricing strategies, and financial models for bid submissions.
- Lead the bid kick-off meetings, proposal development workshops, and review sessions to ensure alignment among key stakeholders and adherence to proposal timelines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and partner organisations to gather pricing, technical information, and other bid-related inputs.
- Manage the proposal production process, including document formatting, graphics development, and printing/delivery logistics, to produce high-quality, professional bid submissions.
- Conduct post-bid analyses and debriefings to gather feedback, identify lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement in the bid management process.
- Maintain organised documentation of bid activities, including records of bid opportunities, proposal documents, client communications, and post-bid analyses.
