Here within our Initial Accommodation and Support Services Contract, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Chef to provide and carry out catering services, in accordance with all relevant and current regulations, legislation and guidelines as per Serco catering food safety management system (FSMS).

Is this the right opportunity for you?

In this role you will assist the Catering Manager in the delivery of catering and compliance of services to the establishment as per Home Office & Serco catering standards (FSMS). Planning menus in consultation with catering manager, chefs and kitchen workers to provide varied and healthy menus for service users to include special diets, special events and religious events. Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the catering industry such as menus, consumer tastes. To record and document all relevant paperwork to comply with food hygiene regulations, HACCP, COSHH and company policies.

Working Hours

· Day shifts (7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am)

· 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off basis.

What you’ll need to do the role

· Identify health, safety and environmental hazards within their working environment and understand how such concerns must be reported and actioned.

All incidents must be immediately reported to the appropriate delegate or manager as incidents, hazards, impacts, risks whenever such activities are witnessed or perceived.

Comply with all relevant legally binding health and safety regulations relevant to the working environment.

To commit to personal training and development to ensure that your skills and knowledge are maintained at the appropriate level.

Maintain an understanding of regulations with regard to catering for different faith groups and dietary requirements.

Essential Qualifications for the role:

City & Guilds 706/1&2 or equivalent SVQ/NVQ or similar in Food Preparation and Production,
Food Safety level 2 preferably level 3
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) level 3 or taken and passed within probationary period.
Allergen control within catering or taken and passed within probationary period.
