Youth Justice

Oasis Restore is a revolution in the criminal justice system, offering therapeutic, integrated, and bespoke support for the young people in its care. Restore is ambitious for every young person and will plan pathways for transition into the community or into the wider custodial estate from the first day that young people arrive, revolutionising the way society rehabilitates young people, and restoring hope, while also making communities safer and cutting the cost of crime. Oasis Restore has opened it’s first Secure School based on international research which shows how smaller settings, high-quality education, and healthcare provision, plus a specialised workforce of teachers and youth workers are the key to successfully turning around the lives of young people in custody. Restore will be home to up to 49 children at any one time and every young person will be enrolled in formal education or training and encouraged into further study or secure employment on release. Young people will also be trained in workshops designed to give them the qualifications necessary to go straight into employment or further study on release.

Oasis 360 Mentoring Programme:

Oasis 360 Mentoring Programme is about restoring hope and love. The programme seeks to establish and maintain a new connection between young people with a reliable, trusted adult volunteer mentor, all while strengthening the existing relationships in a young person’s life by positively engaging with their home, community and school networks.

The underlying belief of Oasis 360 Mentoring is that every child deserves at least one adult who is enthusiastic about them, and willing to go above and beyond to invest in and advance their interests to help them grow, develop, and reach their full potential.

The volunteer mentors, forge a strong personal connection with the young person, which enables them to take part in positive activities and commit to socially appropriate goals whilst improving developmental outcomes (e.g. behaviour, emotional, well-being, academic attainment). Mentoring takes place in the local community for at least an hour once a week for 18 months.

Stop the Traffik
