Position Overview


As a member of the 11-person London CIV Investment Team you will be an essential part of the delivery of this purpose, and the ideal candidate will align themselves with our mission around public service and the delivery of sustainable prosperity. The Investment team is compact so flexibility and a strong commitment to working collaboratively are essential. You will support our investment, risk management, fund and manager monitoring and client servicing processes. You will conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis in collaboration with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders, including external investment managers and suppliers of data and analytical tools.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support portfolio managers with fund and investment manager monitoring, including generating narrative input into quarterly reporting to Partner Fund investors.
  • Support portfolio managers with product design, manager selection and fund modification projects.
  • Support colleagues with Partner Fund-related and ad-hoc projects and queries
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and other reports summarising performance and risk metrics and key characteristics of portfolios for use by internal committees and Board level sub-committees.
  • Develop expertise in the use of eVestment as a fund/product screening, analysis, monitoring and reporting tool.
  • Document all processes, particularly those relating to the use of Bloomberg.
  • Develop expertise in the use of the Bloomberg Enterprise risk monitoring platform across the range of ACS funds offered by London CIV. Ensure that portfolio managers extract value from this system by delivering accurate and timely analysis.
  • Build familiarity with key systems and processes used by the Private Markets and Responsible Investment teams to enable cross functional working, back up cover where needed and consistency across teams.
  • Work with the Fund Accounting and Operations teams to optimise the value of data available from our custody system by delivering accurate and timely analysis.

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well organised, strong workflow management and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to drive and enable cross functional working.
  • Relevant degree – business, mathematics, finance, or economics preferred.
  • Commitment to obtaining a relevant professional qualification such as the Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
  • 1 year plus work experience in asset manager, pension fund or consultancy role.
Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience

·        PowerBI and Coding capabilities

·        Experience in implementing and using risk management systems.

·        Experience in using eVestment or comparable platforms.

·        Experience in preparing reports for Committees and clients and supporting preparation of presentations.
