Pembury Partners are assisting a returning Client with the search for an accomplished HK/Gardener Couple or Individual professionals for a listed property in the Cotswolds. Both professionals will work within designated teams, therefore collaboration and clear communication skills are highly sought after. The property is fully staffed, of formal tone and is organised in chapters: each department has a clear report line which streamlines operations and makes the workload sustainable. All heads of department report into the Director of Estates. The couple will work on a 5 days pattern, predominantly Monday to Friday with flexibility to work weekends when social engagements are organised and take place in residence.

The Principals will also consider individual professionals for both roles – a Housekeeper and a Gardener – although on a live out basis and for candidates based within commutable distance to Cheltenham.

Amongst the duties:

  • Mowing of lawns and grass edges
  • Applications of fertilizers and lawn treatments.
  • Maintenance of Tennis court.
  • Woodland works including minor tree works, pruning and planting
  • Pond and river maintenance.
  • Ensure an appropriate standard of maintenance is applied to all garden buildings, paths, walls, fences, and gates.
  • Ensuring that all machinery and equipment is maintained in good clean and safe working order.
  • Maintaining water features, associated pumps, filtration systems and informing the Head gardener of any issues.
  • Using ladders, platforms and lifting equipment where appropriate.
  • Ensuring all equipment and machinery is properly cared for and informing the Head of Gardens and Parkland of any problems.
  • Upholding all health & safety regulations.
  • Keeping all working areas in an orderly manner.

Skillset sought:

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Confident driver
  • Previous relevant experience in similar setting
  • Candidates will ideally hold a horticultural qualification and Spray certificates PA1/PA6.
  • Chainsaw certificate would be an advantage.

Salary and accommodation: up to £40k gpa
