Senior Estimator - General Main Contractor


Job Title: Senior Estimator

Location: North London

Salary: £75,000 + package


About the Client: Our client is a leading general main contracting construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects in the education sector. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for our client in the education sector. As a Senior Estimator specialising in the education sector, you will play a pivotal role in analysing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful execution of construction projects in this domain.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of project documents, blueprints, and drawings to determine materials, labour, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, using industry-standard estimation software and methodologies.
  • Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize cost efficiency and project viability.
  • Participate in bid reviews and presentations, demonstrating expertise and insights into the education sector.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and expectations.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on the education sector preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating and managing projects within budgetary constraints.
