Our client is a leading British Manufacturer of highly engineered products sold into the construction sector. The Company designs, manufacturers and installs its products to many prestigious sites across the UK and internationally.
The new Sales & Marketing Director will bring energy and strategic guidance to a team of UK sales reps and a global sales rep to increase sales of its range of products and solutions. This includes developing and implementing the marketing strategy to complement the efforts of the sales team.
The products are high value and sold in low volume and varying sales cycles so the new Sales & Marketing Director will need to identify the best way to use the existing client and product base as a platform to increase sales and protect margins.
Approximately a ⅓ of sales are to the Construction sector. Sales can be direct to contractors or through the architect. An understanding of the different sales approaches, for example, how to successfully negotiate our client on to the bill of quantities, is very important. Sales may also be directly to the end-user (large companies, government departments).
These are relatively complex engineered products, so an understanding of, or an ability to quickly grasp, the technical differences and how that determines the best applications for prospective clients will be very important.
Working closely with the leadership team across sales and operations will be key. Therefore, this is an office-based role, when not travelling to meet with clients.
