Do you thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment where compliance plays a key role in maintaining operational integrity and business growth?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a Leading Organisation on the search for a Compliance Director. This is a permanent role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for overseeing compliance across thousands of employees and multiple locations throughout the UK & Ireland.

As the Compliance Director, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the organisation’s compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. You will lead a dedicated team, collaborate with key stakeholders, and proactively manage regulatory risks to safeguard the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership on all compliance, risk management, and governance matters.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Lead the compliance team, setting objectives, driving performance, and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Work closely with executive leadership, advising on compliance risks and recommending proactive solutions.
  • Ensure the organisation remains compliant with UK & Ireland regulations, including data protection, employment law, financial regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Establish monitoring, auditing, and reporting mechanisms to track compliance performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders, managing relationships and ensuring transparency.
  • Lead compliance training and awareness programs to embed a compliance-first mindset across the organisation.
  • Oversee investigations into compliance breaches or ethical concerns, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
  • Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the business and implementing necessary adjustments.

What We're Looking For?

  • Extensive experience in a senior compliance leadership role, ideally within a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Deep understanding of UK & Ireland regulatory frameworks, including governance, risk management, and data protection.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and guide senior stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and regulatory change.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, prioritise effectively, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to compliance management.
  • Professional qualifications in compliance, risk, or legal disciplines (e.g., ICA, IRM, CCEP, legal background preferred but not essential).

Competitive salary + benefits.
