Manufacturing Engineer

A fast-growing business at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution is seeking an innovative and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and manufacture of its advanced EV charging systems. With a growing international footprint and involvement in pioneering UK projects, this company designs, manufactures, commissions, and supports end-to-end commercial charging infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team and help scale the production of next-generation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient production processes for EV charging system manufacturing
- Ensure production complies with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring uptime and efficiency
- Work with design teams to scale product specifications into workable manufacturing processes
- Identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, and drive process optimisation
- Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, workflows, and maintenance schedules
- Train technicians and operators on production processes and equipment usage
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance production performance
- Liaise with Quality Engineering to resolve any quality issues and implement improvements
- Analyse production metrics to inform and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to support the supply chain and material availability
- Assist in implementing JIT strategies and monitor inventory levels to reduce waste
- Engage with suppliers to solve production-related challenges and ensure material compliance
- Provide engineering support to ensure day-to-day operational readiness
- Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to align production objectives with broader business goals
Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Engineering, or a related field would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role involving electric systems, ideally in the EV or power sector
- Good working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing tools
- Hands-on experience with power electronics, connectors, and electrical system components
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
