In return, we seek an Employment Lawyer / Experienced Paralegal, who goes the extra mile to help, is interested in the "big picture" of the education sector and who understands our ethos.


Key Duties

  • Accurate drafting of settlement agreements in line with client instructions
  • Drafting of contracts in line with Burgundy (teachers) and Green (support staff) terms and conditions
  • Drafting of HR policies, accounting for education sector practices
  • Drafting of other legal documents using templates and precedents eg secondment agreements
  • Drafting of letters to support caseworkers during employment processes including TUPE, restructuring, ill health absence, disciplinary, grievance cases
  • Conducting legal research
  • Drafting and providing scopes of work and costs estimates to clients
  • Preparing witness statements
  • Taking notes at meetings
  • Administrative support for meetings
  • Writing blogs/newsletter articles
  • More experienced candidates would also be expected to demonstrate an ability to build lasting relationships with clients, deliver training, and provide senior level support to a team of HR advisors.


Location - Hybrid

Predominantly home based - online engagement with team members/clients.

Minimum one team meeting per month in person in Cumbria (ideal candidate would be in a position to also attend in person meetings with clients on an ad hoc basis when necessary).


Contract

Full time, full year, permanent

Part time/flexible working available

Salary negotiable depending on experience
