Light IQ is an independent lighting consultancy that designs and supplies innovative lighting schemes for residential and commercial properties. With a team of experienced lighting designers from diverse backgrounds, we have successfully completed over 1000 projects in the UK, Europe, and the West Indies. Light IQ focuses on providing bespoke lighting solutions independent of manufacturers, tailored to each project's specific needs.


Role Description


This is a full-time role for a Lighting Designer at Light IQ in our South London studio.


The Lighting Designer will be responsible for project management, client liaison, creating and implementing lighting designs, specifying lighting fixtures, collaborating with architects and interior designers, and ensuring that projects meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.


In addition, the ideal candidate will attend face-to-face meetings to present designs and ideas to clients, architects and designers, as well as site visits to monitor the progress of the lighting installation.


International travel will be required for this role.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Lighting Design, working on international projects
  • Team leader with excellent organisation skills.
  • Experience in Lighting Design from concept to completion, site supervision and handover, internationally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with architects and interior designers.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT or other design software, plus MS Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • English as mother tongue or proficient level.
  • Permanent UK Resident/National Insurance Number.
