Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in any ad-hoc technical consultancy projects regarding menu checks, allergens and nutrition as and when received.
- Assist in specification validations/approvals on Food Alert System Assure 65. Client requirements vary, ensure spec check process is followed, including technical, legal and to customer policy. Keep trackers up to date, ensure SLAs are met and ensure queries are responded to in a timely manner.
- Manage specification writing projects. Write accurate and legal specifications in customer formats as required. Request access to data via email or remote connection, evaluate and learn client processes to ensure we are delivering to their ways of working, request gold standard specifications. Double check all data written into specification for spelling, accuracy and compliance to the most recent Food Information regulations/customer codes of practice. Ensure the specifications are quality checked internally and client deadlines are met.
- Familiarise yourself with customer projects, products and timescales, using internal workflow tracker.
- Create raw material and finished product specification trackers with structured detail and timelines.
- Keep all data and information consistent and compliant with company policy/customer codes of practice.
- Stay up to date with specification platforms like Tesco TQC, Hive, MCreate, Evolve, Igloo, M&S Find, Nutritics. Familiarise with internal systems e.g. Assure Supplier, Assure Retail, Assure Menu.
- Complete QA Checks for other team members and document where required.

- Team player who will step in and assist others when necessary
- Competent with MS Office; Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience
- Some experience of the food industry in particular manufacturing
- Worked with or knowledge of a variety of Ingredients (chilled, Ambient, ready to eat etc)
- Knowledge of specifications or specification platforms
- Knowledge of allergens and additives
- Aware of Food Information Regulations and other regulations relating to hospitality and the food industry
- Any experience with menus or nutrition
