Job Description

What your new role will entail;

Our Belfast Water team have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to work across a number of frameworks with various clients in Belfast.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be supported and encouraged to maintain your CPD and embrace initiatives to help you further develop your own skills and career to become an industry leader.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for the following;

+ Producing feasibility studies, including financial and non-financial comparisons.

+ Liaising and collaborating with process, mechanical, environmental, planning, geotechnical, structural teams.

+ Developing outline/detailed water and wastewater designs.

+ Developing AutoCAD and BIM design packages and checking of AutoCAD work.

+ Managing NEC contracts and performing financial project management including regular invoicing, early warning and change controls.

+ Compiling technical notes and reports.

+ Managing junior staff and checking work.

+ Ensuring CDM compliance throughout design and construction.

Being part of the team;

You will be key to delivering water and wastewater upgrades for Uisce Éireann, Northern Ireland Water and Contractor engagements.

You will work alongside our project managers and lead design engineers for a variety of UK & Ireland clients, throughout the project design and delivery cycle, supporting various design stages of water and wastewater utility projects to include carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs and preparation of reports and technical specifications.

You will be part of a core team of around 10 Civil Engineers and a wider team of 30+ of Civil Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, Modellers, Structural Engineers, Planners, Ecologists and CAD Technicians.

Qualifications

Here's what we will need from you;

+ Engineering degree qualified

+ Chartered Engineer Status (or approaching chartered status)

+ Be experienced working on the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure upgrade schemes.

+ Be experienced in compiling feasibility option reports on water or wastewater treatment and/or infrastructure projects.

+ Have knowledge of hydraulic assessment of pipelines and sewers.

+ Be experienced in the development of contract preparation and administration using NEC or other forms of contract.

+ An enthusiasm to develop and grow
