The Role

We are seeking a Field Maintenance Technician to join our national team. This role involves frequent travel as, where, and when required to support delivery of units across hospital sites within the UK. The role requires troubleshooting abilities, being a ‘handy person’ to carry out minor repairs. The ability to learn to physically put entrance ramps together, learn to operate unit hydraulic system and fix minor unit problems, e.g. snagging lists. The role requires the ability to physically help with mobile and relocatable unit movements, supporting the drivers when entering or leaving the location, as well as jet washing of units at contracted locations when they are set up. A company van will be provided to support this role. There may be some requirement for European travel and there will be a requirement at times of unit delivery to work out of hours, overnight and during the weekend.


Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who has the following:


  • Working in a radiology mobile, HGV, electrical or technical background is desirable.
  • Trouble shooting abilities, being a ‘handy person’ to carry out minor repairs.
  • Ability to, or learn to, physically put entrance ramps together and fix minor unit problems, e.g. snagging lists.
  • Experience of or ability to learn how to pack and unpack mobile unit steps, disconnect cables, and place spreader plates under, and operate hydraulic legs.
  • Ability to physically help with mobile and relocatable unit movements, supporting the drivers when entering or leaving the location.
  • Jet washing of units at contracted locations when they are set up.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, radiology service provision or estates is desirable.
  • A positive, can-do attitude, taking pride in their work and being passionate about their practice.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and IT literacy.
  • A flexible approach to work and able to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun) and ‘out of hours’ (17:00-08:00)
  • Ability to build exceptional relationships within a diverse, dynamic working environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.
  • The ability to remain calm when working under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Location

This position is based in the UK and involves frequent travel across various hospital sites.


Hours

The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week across Monday-Sunday. On-call hours will also be required.
