Job Title: Demand Planner
Location: Remote (UK based)
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary: The Demand Planner will be responsible for accurately forecasting demand across our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Business-to-Business (B2B), and Amazon channels. The role will ensure optimal inventory levels, minimize waste due to expired products, and align forecasts with our multi-channel sales strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of market trends, channel-specific dynamics, and product lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have experience in demand planning for multi-channel distribution, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive successful forecasting and inventory strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting & Analysis:
o Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for DTC, B2B, and Amazon channels using historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights.
o Analyse channel-specific sales patterns, promotional impacts, and seasonal trends to adjust forecasts and ensure alignment with business objectives.
o Determine and manage appropriate buffer stock levels to mitigate risks associated with demand variability, lead times, and supply chain disruptions.
o Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to gather inputs and validate demand forecasts for each channel.
o Understand product expiration dates and implement strategies to manage product lifecycle, reducing the risk of expired or obsolete inventory across all sales channels.
- Forecast Pacing & Adjustment:
- Regularly review forecast accuracy and adjust demand plans based on actual performance versus forecast for each channel.
- Implement forecast pacing techniques to monitor and refine demand projections throughout the sales cycle, tailored to the needs of DTC, B2B, and Amazon.
- Identify and address forecast variances, adjusting plans in response to unexpected demand shifts or market changes specific to each channel.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Channel Heads to understand promotional plans and product launches across DTC, B2B, and Amazon channels, incorporating these into demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with Operations to optimize production schedules and ensure timely product availability across all channels.
- Provide insights to the Finance team for aligning demand forecasts with financial goals for each distribution channel.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Generate regular demand planning reports, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities by channel.
- Work closely with Operations Manager to align supply with demand, considering channel-specific lead times and shelf life requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and overall supply chain efficiency for DTC, B2B, and Amazon.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, tools, and techniques to drive innovation in demand planning processes.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in demand planning, preferably within the beauty, personal care, or FMCG industries.
- Experience with demand planning for multi-channel distribution, including DTC, B2B, and Amazon.
- Strong knowledge of expiry dates and batch control
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical forecasting and data analysis.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
