Product Development Executive

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Development and Production Executive to join our team at Alyx, based in London. You will work closely with the Production Manager, supporting and collaborating on all day tasks. The primary function of the role is to ensure that throughout the product development and production life cycles, impeccable quality and the highest standards are maintained, while also driving process innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
To assist and support the Production Manager on all daily tasks. These would include:
- component management: follow up and monitor orders of raw components for both development and production phases.
- specification implementation: work in collaboration with the Production Manager to:
- technical improvements for both materials and construction.
- the proper implementation of the quality specifications for new products.
- optimisation: challenge PRI (cost price) to align with margin targets, optimizing costs without compromising on quality. Considering margin analysis, cost/volume/profit analysis, value base pricing, cost reduction strategies, cost reduction and price negotiation etc.
- of Materials management: ensure bill of materials (BOM) robustness, supporting accurate production planning and resource allocation (such as accuracy of components, quantities, standardisation, supplier reliability etc.)
- Files Management: follow the technical files of each model to anticipate and resolve any potential problems and guarantee their industrial feasibility.
Secure Time to Market: secure time to market targets, streamlining processes to expedite product launches where possible.
- Control Documentation: set up QC files for each product, ensuring comprehensive oversight of all quality measures.
- Indicator Implementation: track and optimise production efficiency and all quality metrics.
- Production Processes: oversee and manage processes for bulk production, ensuring consistency and excellence in every batch.
Person profile - capabilities, proficiency, experience:
- a degree in Engineering, Design, or closely related field, from an Engineering School or equivalent.
- minimum of 2-3 years’ experience gained in the industrial field, ideally leather goods.
- minimum of 2-3 years in product development and production management, preferably in luxury retail.
- of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
- project management capabilities; able to demonstrate great rigor and methodology daily.
- communication and collaboration capability.
- in the Office suite (Excel in particular) and ERP systems.
- passionate and results focused.
- for, and commitment to, excellence.
- luxury sensibility and eye for details, ensuring every product reflects exceptional standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Working arrangements:
- to Production Manager.
- type - full time employee.
- working from the offices in London
- working would be considered, with a minimum of 3 days in the office. This is because the role works in close collaboration with the Production Manager and requires handling of components, seeing products and colours personally. The role also requires close collaboration with the wider team, especially with quality control team, our warehouses, and our suppliers.
