Finance Transformation Lead

Manchester (3x a week on-site)

6+ month contract

£600 per day (outside of IR35)


SystemsAccountants are currently seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Lead to join our client and drive the effective implementation and optimisation of SAP Business ByDesign (SAP ByD). This project will involve undertaking a programme performance, business, technical and delivery review of in-flight SAP ByDesign programme and developing a deployment strategy and business transformation approach.

The ideal candidate will have a strong finance background as a qualified Accountant, extensive ERP implementation experience, and experience optimising financial processes within a challenging ERP set-up. The client are looking for a dynamic and experienced finance professional with a passion for driving transformation and implementing best practices in ERP systems.


Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the current use of SAP ByDesign and implement SAP best practices to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Review the overall systems landscape, suggesting enhances for integration, data flow, and finance processes.
  • Hold responsibility for gathering all current processes and systems functionality and enhance a SAP ByD transformation project.
  • Conduct GAP Analysis to identify areas of improvement.
  • Oversee the systemisation of month-end and other financial processes to ensure accuracy and timelines.
  • Engage and influence multiple stakeholders across the organisation to drive transformation initiatives.
  • Lead executive board meetings; presenting findings and progress updates.
  • Drive key deliverables in the Finance Transformation project.
  • Work closely with the SAP vendor to ensure successful project outcomes.



Role Requirements

  • Finance background, ideally with previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Director, or CFO.
  • Must have experience in international finance projects.
  • Track record of overseeing ERP implementations, particularly moving from on-premise legacy systems to a Cloud based ERP.
  • Must have strong Finance workstream knowledge
  • Strong background in financial processes and month-end systemisation
  • Familiarity with SAP ByDesign is desirable, but candidates with experience in other ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, NetSuite, and D365 will also be considered.
  • Experience in professional services industry would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with implementing expense systems, P2P software and Tax Compliance software and integrating with ERP.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Dynamic personality with the ability to challenge status quo.
  • Proven ability to challenge existing practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to be on-site in Manchester 3x a week.
