Position: Lead Production Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £45,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce technical reports to support process changes.
  • Responsible for managing the Manufacturing Support Engineer and Production
  • Engineer daily workload, carrying out performance reviews and training needs.
  • Experience of Statistical data analysis, Statistical process control, Six sigma project
  • methodology and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Adhere to the company Change Control procedure.
  • Design of Experiments - DOE.
  • Creation of work instructions, routings, BOM’s, SOP’s and implementation and
  • handover of processes to online staff.
  • Complete time and motion studies for manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management responsibility with ability to produce Gant charts and provide
  • accurate project timing plans.
  • Work with the Process & CI Engineers to specify and commission & validate capital
  • equipment.
  • Analyse factory flow and lean layouts to ensure maximum optimisation of people and
  • equipment.
  • Identify and assess new developments in technology, machinery, software, cutting tools,
  • materials, and processes, minimise process set-up times, design jigs, fixtures, and
  • special tooling.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree, HND, HNC in an Engineering discipline.
  • Team Player who works well with others.
  • Lean / continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
  • Competent CAD-CAM-Vericut user with Solidworks drafting experience able to produce
  • and amend engineering drawings in line with current standards.
  • Advantage to have Esprit CAM experience.
  • Must be a proficient Solidworks user and capable of producing engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of measurement techniques and equipment - Gauge R&R - MSA
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Methodical thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Experience of data analysis – Preferably Minitab
  • Good Project management skills
  • Plans activities and projects well in advance and takes account of changing
