Trade Surveillance Specialist

London Bridge (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 remote)

Full-time - 4-5 month FTC

Hedge Fund / Asset Management

Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum pro-rata

Our client, a leading Investment Manager is seeking an experienced Trade Surveillance professional to join their compliance team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in hedge fund trade surveillance, extensive experience with Bloomberg, and the ability to hit the ground running.

This role involves monitoring trading activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, regulatory reporting and providing oversight on best execution, market abuse, and shareholder disclosures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct real-time and post-trade surveillance to detect market abuse, wash trades, threshold breaches, and other suspicious activities.
  • Ensure compliance with takeover regulations, including shareholder disclosures and engagement with the Takeover Panel.
  • Manage and optimise trade surveillance systems, including Bloomberg Vault, and Alteryx, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide oversight on Best Execution, KYC, AML, and PA Dealing

Key Requirements:

  • Available immediately or within 1/2 weeks
  • 5+ years of experience in trade surveillance within a hedge fund or asset management firm.
  • Strong expertise in Bloomberg AIM, BVAULT and surveillance technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of market abuse regulations, MiFID II, best execution, and regulatory disclosure requirements.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret trading data, including identifying wash trades, short selling disclosures, and market manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx for data analysis and reporting (desirable)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to act quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident communication skills, verbal is key, with the ability to work well with front office
